October 14th. The Power of We
Irene Kharono from ActionAid Uganda talks about the land grabs that are affecting her country and many poor small-holder farmers around the world and why the Power of We is important in tackling this issue.
Oxfam’s research shows that some big land deals are forcing hard working families from their homes, jobs and food. We all need to work together to stop this injustice.
Greenpeace joins thousands of people from Nakhon Si Thammarat in a rally to protest plans for a new coal-fired power station to be built in their province by the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT). The protestors call for EGAT to immediately withdraw its coal project due to projected serious economic, social and environmental impacts. Greenpeace wants the Government of Thailand to make a clean energy future a reality for Thai communities by abandoning plans to build more coal fired power plants and prioritizing solutions such as renewable energy.
